Entry Rules
1.Consignors to this sale must be a paid member of WVLBA or WVJLBA and the West Virginia Cattlemen's association. Non-members may consign and have dues deducted from their sale proceeds.
2. All cattle must be registered with the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF) and properly tattooed in accordance with NALF rules; tattoos will be checked at the sale site.
3. The sale committee and sale management reserve the right to limit the number of bulls accepted for the sale.
4. The deadline for mail in entry to this sale is January 12, 2012. Online entry will be available on December 16, 2012 until Jan.14, 2012 at www.wvlba.com. Include with your entry form: A) Original registration certificate (signed); B) Complete calf application form on all calves at side; (C) Footnote information (breeding dates, AI sire info, calving info); (D) High quality photographs; (E) Entry fees of $50 per lot payable to West Virginia Limousin Breeders Association. CATTLE WILL NOT BE CATALOGED WITHOUT ENTRY FEES OR WITHOUT REGISTRATION PAPERS OR COMPLETED APPLICATION.
5. The entry fees will be credited to the sale expenses of the consignor and will be reduced by the amount before the sale proceeds are disbursed. The sales management and the sale committee reserves the right to limit the number of cattle accepted for the sale and to screen from the sale any animal deemed unfit for the sale. If a lot is not presented at the sale or is screened from the sale, the consignor shall forfeit the entry fee for that lot.
6. The sale will be self-supporting with the sale expenses prorated to each consignor as a percentage of total expenses to gross sale receipts. Costs of registration and transfer will be paid by the seller. Commission will be paid on all no sales. Checks to consignors will be mailed in a prompt manner when the consignor’s account with the sales management is in order.
7. The consignor shall guarantee all entries to be breeders as outlined in the NALF suggested breeding guarantee.
8. An interstate health certificate must accompany each lot consigned at the sale site. It is the responsibility of the consignor and their veterinarian to make certain that all tests as required by state and federal laws are conducted prior to the issuance of the health certificate.
9. Cattle must be in by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th. The show is scheduled for Friday, April 13th, with the sale on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
10. All cattle must be halter broken, and presented in a professional manner. Cattle should be in good body condition, and clipped and groomed acceptably for a purebred auction. Bulls must show with a nose lead. All cattle that appear to have disposition problems or unacceptable body conditions will be screened from the sale by the sale chairman. Cattle that are shown will be sold before cattle that are not shown. It is recommended that bulls have a minimum adjusted weaning weight of 550 pounds and females have a minimum adjusted weaning weight or 450 pounds.
11. All consignors to this sale must agree to abide by the sale rules and to all decisions and conclusions of the management and/or sale committee regarding the sale.
12. Fullblood, purebred, and percentage bulls 75% or greater will be accepted. Bulls aged between 1 year and 2 1/2 years by April 30, 2012, will be accepted. All bulls must be semen tested either at home by a licensed veterinary prior to arriving at the sale site or by Phil Osborn at the sale site. Bulls to be tested at the sale site must be in place Thursday morning, April 12th. Bulls must have a minimum scrotal circumference of 30 cm. The scrotal circumference must be documented and must accompany the bull.
13. Fullblood, purebred, and percentage females 75% or greater will be accepted. No female over eight (8) years of age will be accepted. All females over 24 months of age must be safe in calf or have a calf at side. Cows with six-month old (or older) calves at side must be safe in calf. No bred heifer expecting to calve before 24 months of age will be eligible to sell. All bred females must be bred to a registered Limousin bull 87% or greater in blood. Heifer calves selling without dams should be weaned at least 30 days prior to sale day.
14. All bred females must have a veterinarian statement of pregnancy and must be presented to sale management.
15. Cattle consigned to this sale remain the property of the owner until sold. Neither the sales management, auctioneer, nor other representatives shall assume any liability and will be indemnified and shall be held harmless by the owner for any damages resulting in any loss, claim, injury, or cause of action as the result of this sale, whether such loss, claim, injury, or cause of action rests with the owner or the third party regardless of whether such loss, claim, injury, or cause of action be the result of damages to the livestock or damage caused by livestock..
New Rule
The WVLBA show will be a dry show. The use of paints, adhesives or adhesive type products will not be allowed. Any animal that has paint, adhesives or adhesive type products applied will not be eligible to show and will sale at the bottom of the sale order. Final Bloom or Zoom Bloom type oils are permissible.
